Position
  • Assistant Professor, Department of Statistics
Dr. Ma’s research focuses on developing Bayesian statistical methods for spatial and spatio-temporal data for real-world problems in various areas including environmental science, agriculture, plant science, genomics, and engineering. His goal is to design and develop tree-based models and hierarchical space-time models that not only allow efficient computations but also capture spatial heterogeneity, temporal dynamics, multiscale variations, and non-Gaussian behaviors, with an emphasis on interpretability and uncertainty quantification for scientific applications.
