P8: Visualizing Complex Metabolic Interactions Using Three-dimensional Graph Models

Title: Visualizing Complex Metabolic Interactions Using Three-dimensional Graph Models
Mentors: Dr. Julie Dickerson
Description: Stereographic virtual reality systems have strong potential for visualizing complex metabolic interactions using three-dimensional graph models of metabolism combined with experimental data. This project involves enhancing the Java interface on a handheld computer for interactively selecting what data to visualize and how to display it in the virtual environment. We would also like to investigate the possibility of using a voice command interface.

Expertise required: Java and C; Willingness to learn about VRJuggler (www.vrjuggler.org) is a plus.
